Alignment gone wrong

This might be my opinion but that looks like something more then camber caused that. From my personal experience with balding tires, if its only camber to blame its a fairly even wear around the edge not just spots of bad wear with some wear.

Exactly! With my Evo I did all kinds of suspension settings. After much trail and error, I went with 0 toe all round and -1.8 front camber and -1.0 in th rear. car handled great. Yes I had inner tire wear up front but it was even and rounded not patchy and flat like the pic above.

I plan on trying out lots of different settings. starting with 0 toe all around -1.5 up front and -.5 camber in the rear... we'll see how it goes, unless someone has a better starting point for settings?
 
Yeah his car was pretty messed...bad shocks, ball joints, tie rod ends...I was refering to the edge of the tire in the pic more than that flat spot. My tires just wore the edge...look real close at the arrow below and you'll see the edge wore off. Sorry for the crap blurry pic.

I had a tie rod end wear out, and before I caught it this happened. I'm running about -2.2° of camber.

This is why you don't cheap out on tie rod ends.

I don't know how long it took to wear them down like this.


Also, on that note, anyone here have an at-home wheel alignment kit? This is now my 3rd alignment in less than a year. And I'll have to get another one in October when I raise the car back up in preparation for DDing in the snow. It looks like you can get kits for ~$200. (Sorry... bit of a threadjack.)

Depends on what you want to use the car for. The general rule is to have rear camber to be about half of front camber. I know what I'd recommend for an autox/road racer, but if you're using it for spirited DDing, then it'll be different.

I'm really glad the new design of the control arms was pointed out. As it turns out, the control arms I got with my knuckle kit a couple years also have the centered holes. I just never paid enough attention to notice. This means I don't have to flip that bushing now and get to cross one more thing off my to-do list :)
