Ok so as some of you know I just picked up my 98 gsx the previous owner did not run a air filter to the intake on the turbo. My guess is that cause of the custom IC piping there isn't much room to get a intake pipe around it to the turbo. The turbo is a evo 3 16g
So my question is what are my options? Custom set up or is there something out there that I can bolt right up?
Trying to keep this as inexpensive as posable please keep this in mind.
Here are some pics of the set up let me know my options please and thanks in advance!

Any of those cheap ebay intake pipes should fit. They are not perfect but you can clean them up a bit and throw a filter on

Oh I see, your bov is kinda in the way. How much room do you have between the turbo and stock airbox location?

Just get a coupler and filter you have a gm maf no need for a pipe. Or a custom pipe that goes down toward the stock IC location.

Rob do u have any pics of that custom set up run to the stock IC location? Honestly I don't know were the stock IC location is. Like I stated very new to DSM.
I don't think I'm a fan if running a filter straight off the turbo with all the heat right there. I think it would be better at the stock air box location
If there are any pics, or install info out there you guys can find please post them.

Ok, no pics, but coming off the top of my head:
The stock MAS location is behind and the IC is under the passenger side headlight. I would take a 3" U -pipe, cut it in half, rotate 180* and add a coupler. That should make up the main portion. Add another 3" pipe and filter and that should be a stock like setup. If you want to cut out the sheetmetal under there, you can have it go down into the fender well. There, you would be a 45*or 90* coupler depending on the angle you want your filter.

I hope I made it clear enough. If not, theres always google "dsm cold air intake" :sneaky:

Ya I did a lot of searching here and all the threads are too old that all the pics have expired.. I'm more if a visual person so pics of different set ups really help me with ideas

Post some pics when you are done please, Id post my intake up but I dont know how... I made it from an old Dejon intake and some couplers and spare pipe. Fits perfect between fenderwell and turbo.

Any of the bolt on pipes are going to be an issue that are meant for the car, dejon, Injen, etc. Had this problem on a friends Evo, we ended up buying a kit like the ebay one and mocking up a pipe with a coupler and bought a universal k and n... If not contact ams or somewhere else that's reputable and see if they can make something or have something around, before you ask then figure out your dimensions you have to work with. There's always changing the way your upper ic and ic pipes are routed, not exactly the cheapest decision but it's always there, that way bolt on pipes fit.

Mocked up..! About a 1.25" gap for a rubber coupler.
