Aftermarket paint jobs.

So who's changed the color of their car? Please post pics and how much the paintjob cost you, how long it's been and how it's keeping up.

I got owned by Earl. I paid 300 for a paintjob from Earl and it's chipping all to hell on the front bumper and the front part of the sideskirt. Not cool.

MAACO, from dull red to a metallic pearl black plus $150 in dent repairs = $500
It is holding up great, no chipping, no defects.

Yeah it was actually only $350 for the paint and clear coat.

Was that including the jambs?

No peel. But no that does not include jams. The guy at my local MAACO said he would do both my door jams for $100.

Not to dis on macco paint jobs,but the differnce from a macco paint job that is 350 to a body shop that cost 1200, is prep work and the paint that is used.Like macco wanta to get as many people in and out as possible so there prep work really isnt as through as a body shop that has a reputaion to only go by.I have had friends who have taken it to macco and within monts it already has stress cracks and what not.Ive had a bumper painted by them and it look good for about 6 months and then its just went to paint hell.But thats my 2cents!

Interesting, I am coming up on a year with mine at it still looks brand new. As for prep work, a little sanding a touch up is that hard.

How are Maaco's paint selections? Earl had a small variety of paint for the 300 job. I wanted to go with a Candy Apple Pearl. Sort of Maroonish but no purple.

At the one I went to, they had tons. They literally had books and books of paints to choose from.

Like most things in life, this is definitly true when it comes to Paint Jobs.

If you ever change the color of your car I will hate you forever. I love Barcelon Red Pearl Eclipses. My favorite color by far. I'll get one someday. As for now I'll stick with my shitty red. :thumbdown

MAACO Sucks in my opinion! I had to replace my front fender and hood, and i decided to get the whole car painted! payed them $800, the paint ran over on the black parts, and the front bumper looks awful!! They didn't tape the lines off well at all, and when i pointed this out, he atempted to fix it with a black sharpie!!! I'll post pics later! In a long story short... I would never ever go to MAACO again!!! :thumbdown

Im not being an ass. Just simply stating the facts. Ive heard horrible stories of people going to those under $500 bucks paint job shops where they just end up paying more anyways to get it redone. Do you really expect to have a decent paint job for 300 bucks? no offense

AGAIN! MAACO IS A FRANCHISE! Each one is different.

That is why I will eat at one McDs and not one across town. the store front is the same but they are different.

Plenty of people have gotten >$500 paintjobs and have been happy with it. So yes, you can say that.
