I currently have a mechanical oil pressure gauge installed that has a leaking fitting at the OFH. The fitting is busted and needs to be replaced so I figured I would just purchase a new setup. However, I've realized I have some questions that I'm hoping the community can help answer.
My questions are as follows:
1. Mechanical vs Electrical. Which one is more accurate? Does it matter?
2. In looking for a new gauge I found a product offered by ExtremePSI called the "Remote Oil Pressure Sending Unit Kit". The vendor claims in the description that this solves the problem of electrical sending sensors failing from excessive vibrations when screwed directly into the OFH. I have included a link below to the product. Its just a SS line with connectors that allows the sensor to be fitted without screwing directly into the OFH.
Has anyone had a electrical sensor fail from being screwed directly into the OFH? Anyone currently using this product?
