Im looking for a way to avoid the high prices of stainless braided line and its fittings for my pump to filter line. I dont realy care what it looks like cause no one will see it. Anyone know of a product that will take decent amounts of pressure thats cheaper than braided line? I have seen a few people using a push lock style line, but i cant seem to find it.

Cool! yea I found a few in there! maybe searching more would help my cause. Looks like this line is lighter in weight too. about $1 cheaper per foot too, and fitting are cheaper too! look like You can save $25+ on a feed line! cool, thanks snowboarder714!

you can use plastic tubes, many cars uses them ... here in Bulgaria we have company named FESTO ... maybe its well known company not only here ... they sell quick links and plastic tubes that are perfect for fuel lines!

Just out of curiosity why do you need to replace the line from the pump to the filter?

When I talked to the op last..He's going with a holset..So I think he's redo-ing the fuel system too..

People run the stock line from pump to filter up to some pretty high hp numbers, I want to say high 600's. Some people just do it for peace of mind but if I had the extra cash laying around, I wouldn't mind doing it either.

Over the winter I will probably be going to a 3/8" steel hard line(factory is 5/16") and a GM style fuel filter(exact fit for 3/8" flare fitting). Very inexpensive, even if you have to use a couple unions along the way. The rubber bits will be fuel injection hose with fuel injection clamps, and a good bead at the end of the hard line. Braze a new 3/8" elbow into the fuel sending unit etc to eliminate any bottle necks.

I heard its a required upgrade to get more power. Im shooting for 600whp, so I was told that 6an or larger fuel line would help. I plan to run 1 wally 255 in tank, and another 255 in line. Or I found a SX 1000hp fuel pump for $200, i might do that is anyone here thinks its a good idea?

You'll be fine with the stock hardline. Just run a better filter and line to rail. No banjo bolts on the fuel system either.

If you do insist on upgrading it, just go to a local hydraulics shop. You'll get to see what you want, feel the hose's bending radius, and the fittings will be cheaper.

On the subject of fuel lines, anyone who has used ss braided for their line ever get a leak in it? I got a pretty good size leak coming from where the line bends down from the tank and runs to the front right under the car, doesn't seem like that terrible of a bend.

I have also used Russel pro classic hose with e85 and Russel a/n fittings with no issue, much lighter then braided steel too. Just make sure if you use braided nylon hose to get the fittings from the same brand, it makes putting the hose together much easier.

How is it connected to the pump assembly?

Ehh, I interchange Earls, XRP, Fragola, and Aeroquip fittings and hose all the time and never have assembly issues.

Paul,

Wouldn't you have to run some sort of anodized aluminum hard line to use E85? I know most if not all fuel cell manufacturers that make their cells from aluminum say that if you're planning on using E85 the cell needs to be anodized. Just a question.:thumb:
You would think so, but I've come across several people who have been running that line (unanodized) with methanol/E85 for 5+ years and haven't had any issues. The aluminum corrosion issue might be more frivolous than most people think. Some manufacturers offer it anodized, but for some reason, they only anodize the exterior of the line.

Paul its connected with AN fittings, I bought the tank to rail from STM, are you thinking it's squirting out of the fittings and then since that is the low point that it's dripping down? If I recall right I checked into that to but I thought for sure it was spraying out of the sides, since I'm on the other side of the world right now I'll remind myself to check it when I'm back. I don't remember If I put those fittings on or if it was the hydraulic shop.

It depends how it's connected, specifically. I'm not familiar with how their kit attaches to the pump assembly. But if it's a hose end that simple screws onto the inverter flare fitting, then that's probably where the leak is. It's a poor solution to attach to the pump assembly, and I see many people are doing it.

I made my own kit with fittings from Russell and Summit using push fit hose
