Aftermarket bell housing?

This site may earn a commission from merchant affiliate links, including eBay, Amazon, and others.

To my knowledge, there is no company that makes an aftermarket bell housing for any DSM transmission (1g, 2g, auto, or manual). A google search came up with nothing, so with 99.9% assurance I say NO. If google can't find it, it probably doesn't exist...

He's not looking for different just new.

I honestly don't know who would though. There is no market for it. Just weld it. Or buy another used.

Aftermarket generally (especially in a drivetrain tech subforum) means higher performance. Now if he asked for a factory bell housing, I'd point him to the classifieds.

I know it does i was just doing a translation as I was thinking he didn't mean higher performance. But anyways your correct. Lol

bills transmissions or siomething like that in ohio (google will easily find it) makes bell housings to t\put RWD trannies to 4g63 engines but no one i know of makes an aftermarket replacement for the stock unit

Just get iut welded up the cracking isn't from power i'm sure, usually it's dfrom power combined with something loose or insaled off kilter

t is weldable, i've repaired them from states that most people think are only good for trashcan se or taking to the scrapper LOL If a welder told you it wasn't weldable then that's why he can't call himself a weldor.(it's in the spelling - but they are not the same thing LOL ) two cracks is nothing, i've replaced missing sections and once a section that was at the sealing surface to the rest of the trans and witha litle clean up and a sanding block it works fine to this day

but either way, i can almost garauntee you're gonna be told to use a stock replacement, if there was something else to be had that wasn't custom made for more than the price ofRebuilt performance Transmission, well then this forum would nsurely know about it :D

It's missing two bell housing mounts and also where the slave cylinder connects.. I added a picture I don't know if it's gonna work.

LOL, yea that's pretty bad, if you had the one large piece that's missin in that pic i'd take on repairing it though.. hell i keep myself a spare that's made form a scrapped one i welded since my last trans explosion.. I thought you meant some one told you the material wasn't weldable, but with metal, you can pretty much fix about anything wth the right amount of time and dedication.. in the case of that housing though i'd say just get another as you're planning... I sitll don't know of any other housings for the stock trans that are aftemarket though
