I have this buddy of mine, wanting to hook up an AFC-II to his 3G GT. Stock motor with an exhaust. Is it possible and is it worth it on a stock motor?

Sure is possible log it and see how conservative teh factory was. All you need is the factory service manual to find out which wire is which on teh ECU.

Here is probably the best resource for the S-AFC in a 3G.

Make sure he uses Opus's suggested pin on the ECU (Pin 43 on 5spd. GT)... works perfect. I just did this on my 3G. Initially I tried another suggested pin and the AFC would kill the car after a the car would come to idle. Then I went and changed my signal wire to what Opus suggested and it ran perfect.
