I'm helping my cousin work on a 1993 eclipse gs that he just got and it has an AEM fuel rail on it, and plugged in to the top right(towards the driver side) is a wire that goes to a little black box probably 4''long x 3''wide x 1/2'' tall with about 12 spots to plug wires into it. Now I was told its something to help out with the turbo? Could anyone help me out with this? Oh and the right 2(driver side) injectors are not working, there is no gas in the cylinders and the plugs are not wet. Where should i look first for that problem?

I'll have to get a pic tomorrow. It has a turbo on it, and the guy we got it from said it helps with the turbo. The reason I'm asking is it had 4 LITTLE wires that pulled out of it(the 4 wires that go into the fuel rail, its just in a cover into a plug)

In response to the second post it's not a 420a. 420a's only came in 2g's where as the non turbo 1st gens had a 4g63.

It possibly sounds like some kind of gauge controller. Maybe something for serial-controlled gauges like the Autometer Nexus series?

The little black box was screwed onto the firewall.

And it has no markings or information on it? I know it's a unit to control gauges, I'm just curious as to what kind.

nope, no markings or anything. and we do have an autometer digital gauge in the car for air/fuel mixtures

That's for cars that run speed density. They just fool the IAT sensor. In this case, there is a sensor bolted to the fuel rail, and wires going to a box. This doesn't sound like one of those little ricey black boxes, except the fact that there is nothing printed on it.

Ok, if anyone could post a pic or a link of what you are talking bout, I'll take a look and see if it looks the same. Thanks.

take a pic of the fuel rail. its probly a multi tap type of thing. You can plug multiple sensors into it and have one output going to data logging or a gauge
