I have a 1998 Mitsubishi Eclipse spyder with the 2.4L engine and was gonna be changing my timing belt soon and have been looking for a colored timing gear for it but can’t ever seem to find one for a 2.4L and my question is can you use the 2.0L cam gear which I believe is for a 4G63 on a 2.4L engine??? Was looking to get one of them adjustable type for it if the 2.0 is able to be used on a 2.4 please and thank you for any advice you can give me on this.

Measure your SOHC cam gear and provide us the dimension. So we can compare.
Since SOHC and DOHC share the same crank sprocket, gear part would be the same, but you have to remove your SOHC gear and measure backside of gear, make sure how deep the cam goes into the gear side.
