I recently bought ACL main and rod bearings. The rod bearings are ok, and match up to my old ones. however, the main bearings, specifically the thrust bearing, is different.

I did a little research on it and came up with this.
You need to check the year of your block and use the main bearings for that year. Some 7 bolt blocks use a saddle bearing for the thrust. A saddle bearing has the thrust built on the main bearing.

Other 7 bolts ran a main bearing and thrust washer set up

My old ones have the washers built into the bearing. The kit I was told will fit exactly has the washers separate.

Do I need to go back and swap out for the right bearings, or will the washers fit my set up?

I dont see how the washers will stay in the right spot to be honest.

Sounds like you have saddle bearings, so that is what you need. You should have a part number on the back of the bearing.
