AC not working?

I'm having a problem and I'm trying to figure out why my AC doesn't work. My guess is that it just needs to be recharged. Anyway, the green light works and doesn't blink or anything. Also if i turn it on during idle I can definitely notice a change in the engine operation. It will almost sound like it's slowing down.

I was wondering if anyone has a suggestion on how I can figure out what's wrong without spending a fortune. Jiffy Lube and Merlins quoted me $30 to inspect the system. Should I just try to get some r-134 and see if it helps?

looks like the actual belt was not on the compressor. Hopefully that's the only problem.

Well, the drive belt is always a good thing to have on the compressor . get'r fixed up!

when you put the belt back on and its blowing but not cold it could be either a leak in a a line or a leak in the evaporator core.

Hey guys, I'm having a similar problem too, the AC on my 2g isn't working, the guy that sold it to me said it just needs a new belt and a charge but I have no clue how to go about installing a new belt and charging the system, if anyone with experience could give me a few step by step instructions i'd appreciate it because it's soo damn hot!
