Here's the deal... I hooked up a 11" spal fan for the AC. I noticed that there is one live wire which is a blue one and the ground is black... First of all, is there a high or low setting for the AC fan? My setup for the fan seems to be low and doesn't really blow really hard... I have two other blue wires that I didn't connect... Should I be utilizing those two blue wires at all to make the fan go faster? Or this is it.. It's just a one speed setting for the AC fan?

Thanks..

After reading 500 posts last night on fans and wiring I have decided to wire them all together. The way it looks is all the different speeds have their own relay so there shouldn't be a problem.....I hope.[/B]

As I said in my previous post, I thought of doing the same thing before. But I'm not 110% sure about it. Logically, I can't see how it would hurt because power should only come from a single relay at one time. Let us know how it goes. Good luck with that.

Why not just setup a relay block? 3 relays each triggered by the one of the inputs (LO1, LO2, and HI) The fan is then powered by a fuse protected wire from the battery. That way you protect the existing relays and the car will activate the fan as it used to.
I thought about doing this too. But then I realized that it would be pointless to put a secong relay after the stock one..... With a stock relay allready there, it should work to connect all the + wires together.....

Steve - I will be waiting for your results. :thumb:

My eyes are kinda crossed after reading about half of that ^^^^^

I'm unsure what you were trying to accomplish, but perhaps you could just bypass the fans via their relays? Both fans turn on at a given time...
If this isnt what your talking about, feel free to esmack me, cuz I cant read sometimes.

i didnt read any of this mumbo jumbo because im lazy and dumb. OMG :p

In my gst I used all 4 wires on for the spal, that mofo is loud and blows hella air! :thumb: The stock radiator fan I wired to a switch too( both fans are wired to switches), i turn this sucker on when i reach "normal" temp, any drawbacks to that? i use the spal when im boosting hard or when its about 100 degrees outside and im in stop and go traffic.

No there are many ways to wire these things up. I just wanted my fans to run like stock fans, come on when they are supposed to and shut off when they are supposed to. I still have AC so when I want my fans to come on earlier I just hit the AC button and wallah they're on. (I take the relay out for AC condenser clutch).

The FAL fans came with a temp probe and control box with it ...but it looks ghetto and the probe needed to be inserted some how into the rad.

Not what I wanted to do at all.
Yeah, that probe actually goes into the rad hose. It can be hidden...
Well, this is what I'm going to do. The AC fan is a single speed, so I'm going to wire that up with just the two wires through the factory relay. And I'm going to pick up on of the Flex-a-lite temp control boxes and try to control the other fan that way. It should work fine, right? I know that box is somewhat ghetto looking, but I will hide it. I just want it to function properly.

What temps would I want it to kick on and off at?

Anyone see a problem with this.

My wiring leading to my fans is just cut into and nothing attached or grounded.
The high wires from my fans are going to an external relay which is just powered from the battery. Both fans run high all the time.

My problem is my a/c will cut on and off about every 3 seconds.(when the a'c is meant to be on) Ambient temperature seems to make it cycle quicker when it's warmer and vice versa.

Anyone see any problems with the wiring, like maybe the stock wiring needs to be grounded or something. Any stabs at this would be appreciated.

Just an update on how my Fal fans are doing so far. Everything seems to be working fine still no problems. The fans come on like they are supposed to and shut off when they are supposed to. Although I have not been able to test to see if the fans come on high speed (242F) which is fine with me my car never should run that hot anyway.

For the record I have them wired as if they were stock fans - both high speed and low speed relays to + and the other two wires to - ground. For both AC fan and rad fan.

Awesome. I'm going to wire mine like that this week. If I experience any problems, I'll post.....

Just a quick headsup. I wires my radiator fan just like Staytuned did:
Blue-green AND Black wires to the fan's ground wire and
White-black AND White-blue wires to the fan's power wire.

There was no side effects to doing this like this and the fan operated just as the stock fan did. :thumb:

Yes you could do that. Wire the low speed wire to the positive on the aftermarket fans and then wire the negative to the negative on the fans. I chose to use the stock wiring harness for ease of removal and overall cleanliness. If you don't have AC then you could both fans together and have them both come on at low speed.

why dont u use a little common sense, oh wait then again im asking too much, U are going to short out your entire electrical system and then well see who knows what. oh yes and my english isnt up to par I didnt know i was writing a fn essay, btw where do u go to school?

A perfect example of how to have a negative impact on our site. Insults and poor grammar. Can you please read over our rules again and try adding something useful to the discussion.

U r not posed to use web speak here in r forums. Please type out the whole word and use the spell check feature. No, this isn't school and we hate to play the grammar police, but using proper grammar is just one way of showing respect and consideration to all of us who have to read your post. It's difficult enough trying to understand people sometimes without having to decipher messages written like this. If you want to use our forums, you'll have to respect our rules. Thanks.

well enough said, sorry I have so much crap to do and study for I have no time to be politically correct on the internet, this gst guy thinks that im so newb and moron because I havent done any research in fact I have been doing research on here, machv, dsmtalk so I think I deserve some respect in the fact that I am trying to figure this out on my own instead of asking for help or advice, so again i am sorry I have a short fuse,

My advice to you is to ignore people who "assume" you are a newb. Just be sure you realize when you post a message on our site that you are addressing us ALL. That's why we ask you to put some effort into using good grammar and punctuation. It doesn't take more than an extra few seconds each time you post - which I'm sure you can spare, even with your studies. And it shows us all that you have consideration/respect for the rest of us. It also ensures people will give respect back.

How are we supposed to know your qualifications on this subject? Getting defensive and insulting people will not help the situation. This is the internet - we know nothing about you. Just calm down a bit, don't go on the defensive, and everything will be just fine.

if you want it run high all the time cant you just replace the fans lo relay with another high one, so then there is no lo only high.....or will that not work...i dont know if anyone else posted that....sory if they did..

A relay is a relay, they activate based on input. Hi, Lo, it's the same one.
