So my newbie question is why would you delete these? MY dsm came with these deleted and I was just wondering why someone would do this on a DD and what the realistic purpose is if any. I personally would have liked to had both of those intact. Any insight would be great.

I run non-cruise control and it doesn't bother me but I hardly ever drive farther than 50 miles in one drive

ya mine are both gone. Well I know for sure that the cruise control is gone but the abs has the fuse removed and I feel pretty confident that its also been removed. My question is why would you do that?

More than likely your DSM didn't come standard with the ABS system, but the CC I can try to explain. There are no performance gains from pulling the CC system, maybe weight but thats only good for a few pounds at best. I did it on my DSM not only from a weight savings aspect but also to clean up the engine bay and make it easier to work on things that side of the engine bay.

Everyone has their own reasons in doing stuff to their car, if its that big of a deal it wouldn't take but (1) part to get it working again as I'm looking at your engine bay photo. The previous owner did the CC delete sort of half-assed since he's still using the CC throttle cable.

most of the work the PO did was totally f'd up for lack of a better word. He couldnt even tap the right line for the boost gauge. Ya I have the lever for the CC but Im not sure whats missing under the hood. I pretty sure it came with abs tho sine I do have the idiot light that lights up when you turn the car on but then goes off normally. I know for sure the fuse is gone. I havent tried stomping the pedal to see if they lock up LOL. abs is just nice to have especially in the winter with the rain/snow/ice. Any idea on how to reinstall the CC? I do a lot of highway driving and it would be nice to just set it and go

I removed my cruise control because I never use it, and it clutters the engine bay. I removed my ABS for the same reasons; I never used it because it never really worked properly.

I have the plug most defiantly but the cylinder is gone and who knows where. Im pretty familiar with that part of the car since I just removed my upper intercooler pipe recently and patched a hole in it and I saw the extra plug. solves that question. So I need to locate the cylinder for starters and then probably reverse a delete vfaq?

I've got the parts to make the cruise control system work if you're interested. I just removed my CC system.

What you looking to get out of it?

He has the throttle cable "box" on the firewall already, its just the solenoid that sits on the passenger side strut tower that he needs.

Remember no classifieds discussion in our Tech forums, I don't want to be cleaning up WTB or For Sale ads later in this thread.
