[ABS] Antilock light ON

Hi,

How can I diagnose ABS, when the method of PIN 1 & 4 not working? I checked my car, ABS pomp and others are installed, so I must have ABS.
My car is Eclipse 2G 99 from USA, I can't diagnose it.

ABS ECU can be dead? I don't know what can I do now, so I ask You to help me, if You know the reason ;-)

When I take off fuse from ABS light still is on, that is very strange, because ABS should be disabled...

That's not strange, the ecu detects the power loss on the abs and turns on your indicator light.
you need to find out on what pins the abs unit is supposed to get power and ground and see if you get 12 volts on them.
if you do the best thing to do is go to a dealer and have the error code's read, one of your abs sensors is most likely shot and that should come up with the error code's.

Hmm, if I understand You post, master ECU detects the ABS power loss? So, I must connect PIN 1 & 4 ( or Ground ) and check volts? You said about OBD2 connector, am I right?

I checked the method from http://codsm.org/forums/showthread.php?t=6850 and there is no sound from relay, no volts to check four sensors. So, maybe not ABS ECU is dead, but power relay? Fuses is for 100% OK, I checked it with working on car. So, I must take off passanger carpet and check it. How can I take off carpet, should I take lots of thinks to get it?

Then, the odds are, you've broken the wire to a wheel-speed sensor. That's the #1 reason for a 2G to lose ABS. You can either check the wire pairs with a ohm-meter or pay Satan to read the code. I don't think even EvoScan or a Lexia can read the code; I believe that you have to have a MUT-II. But ask around, because I might be wrong about that. It was that way 10 years ago, but maybe not now.

Heh, did You read my latest post? I can't find ABS ECU and his harness, how can I diagnose car? If in 99 year GST Mitsu moved ABS ECU to somewhere else ( maybe to engine bay ), but under passenger carpet I can't find it...

So, I should go to ASO and check it on there MUT-II tool?
