i have a question about changing my transmission fluid. This is on a 97 eclipse 5 speed turbo. I looked up the info on how to change the fluid on VFAQ.com but there picture of the transmission is different then mine. Does anyone know what bolt it the drain and which is the filler bolt? Pics would be most helpful. This is on a 2g, i beleive the one on vfaq is a 1g or a AWD model.

It should be almost directly on the bottom of the tranny to drain it. Just take the "lowest" bolt out and see what comes out of it. Above that there should be a hole to refill it.

strangly these bolts are not on my transmission, thats why i asked. A little more help would be good.

ALWAYS REMOVE THE FILL PLUG FIRST.

theres going to be a drain plug on the tranny.. yourll see it... its hard to come by if your not sure what your looking for.. but it stickes out more than the others... and youll have to unscrew that.. make sure your car is on a level surface.. ie/ if your cars jacked up make sure its jacked up on the rear as well even hight. let it drain and then after all is done.. plug it back up. look for a little black rubber piece that would be on the tranny above the axels. pull that out.. you might have to do some work but pull it out. then get the fluids ready. take the fluids.. and what i did was get a little kit from any parts store that hooks up to the tranny fluid bottle. and you just squeez it into the whole... it should use about 2 1/2 bottles roughly.. but you keep filling it up till you can touch the fluid with your finger in the whole... so good luck and if you have any more ?'s dont be scared.. its better to ask a dumb question then to do something dumb to your car.. you know.. :thumb:
