hellow fellow dsmers! okay on firday i just bought my first turbo eclipse. its a 1997 gst fwd turbo. I bought the car with a timing issue for 1000.. it ran really rough we got the the timing fixed and it still ran rough so we started to dig into everything and notcied a whole lot of vacuum lines were not plugged in wires werent plugged in and im missing my 3 sensors or watever you call them that are supposed to be against my firewall which should be my egr solenoid fuel regulator and something else

i guess what im asking is... is it the vacuum lines or what and would it be easier to do a vacuum line delete or keep them and try to find were they go.. i have looked at the taboo vacuum line delete image but some of the vacuum lines are not anywhere to find on my car...

if anyone could possibly help me through this that would be greatly appreciated and so sorry if this is confusing! because i am deeply confused myself

By timing issue, do you mean the timing belt? If so, you might have bent valves. These are interference engines. If the belt slips more than a couple teeth, the valves will contact the pistons. Resetting the belt won't fix the issue, you'd be looking at a head rebuild. I'd run a compression and leak down test to verify the health of the engine.

As for the factory vacuum lines, it's much easier to eliminate them. But if you have emissions in your area, then you'll need to keep them. If not, rip out all that emissions junk and run dedicated lines to the essentials (BOV, boost gauge, wastegate, etc).

If you don't have emissions then by all means delete the lines. The only lines you NEED are the one that runs manifold to fuel pressure regulator, manifold to blow off valve, wastegate to a boost source on the intercooler piping, and of course the brake booster. Everything else can be eliminated emissions wise. It's going to be harder to piece it all back together than to just remove it.

okay sorry completley forgot to mention we did a compression test came out fine we have the head that had bent valves thats a mess and im 99 percent sure im missing my fuel regulator this guy that owned it before me was a idiot i have alot more problems too...

is their any diagram besides the taboo one to help because me nor my mechanic can follow that because the vacuum lines are so messed up...

The regulator is bolted to the driver side of the fuel rail in stock format.

Like I said above you need one line from manifold to the FPR, one from manifold to bov, and one from wastegate to intercooler pipes. That's it. Any other vacuum lines can be removed.

This thread should help: http://www.dsmtuners.com/forums/art...-speed-shop-vacuum-diagram-removal-1g-2g.html

In the 2g pic, ignore the line that goes from wastegate to MBC to BOV. It should go wastegate to MBC (if you have one) to intercooler piping.

Edit: sorry for all the edits, just wanting to insure you get the right information. The below picture is how you should be routing your lines.

well we will do that in the morning thanks! could that be the issue for running rough? and what about all the wire plugs?

Without an FPR the engine wouldn't run.

well thenn i guess i have one just not were i thought it was and well onto the next problem it smokes from what looks like under the manifold almost by the tubro?
