I am using one on my 94' AWD. I switched over from the Haltech E6K. I have been running it for 6 months and it runs and drives great. I have also just purchased AEM's wideband kit.
 
I've got a 92 AWD that I'm looking to put an AEM EMS in shortly. Does anyone have a really good fuel map for a stock turbo w/free mods? I'll be upgrading a lot in the future. Whats the best place in SoCal to pick up the EMS for the best price?
 
Frankly, you will not be able to get it running right unless you find an AEM certified tuner, and/or someone who has ALLOT of experience with the ems already.

The base maps stink.

On the other hand, those who spend the time and money, and who have access to a tuner, do get remarkable results with the AEM EMS.
 
:dsm: i have one and swear by it, it is the most vesitlie and easy to use part i have ever seen, im running the aem 3bar map, aem iat ensor and the wideband kit. ask away...............

Does anyone have the part numbers for the GM IAT and MAP sensor, where did you get them, and where is the MAP tapped at?
 
Just got one. Waiting till I can afford the speed density conversion. How much are the parts from AEM. I picked mine up for $800 still NIB. Number 54 I believe. I contacted Mike at RRE they charge $80 an hour to tune if you didn't buy through them $60 if you did. He said you will need at least 4 hours worth of tuning. I plan on having them tune mine with 2 maps one for pump one for race. Im hoping with this I will be able to hit the 11's on my current setup. Has anyone come up with a way to bolt it down instead of the cheesy tape? Also what is the diameter of the AEM speed density? I have 2.5" IC pipes. Any PICS would be great.

GM 3BAR MAP Sensor P/N: 16040749

I had my welder take my throttle body elbow and weld a bung, I then drilled and tapped it for 3/8 NPT, and installed my AIT sensor there.
I took the map sensor, used the map sensor bracket from a V6 rodeo and installed the sensor/bracket setup on the firewall, and ran the vacume line to the stock vacume source which leads to the BOV. I made my own MAP & AIT sensor harness allowing me to plug it into the MAFS plug and the timing plug, all plug and play. I can easily swap to a stock mass air in minutes.

I went to www.gmpartsdirect.com and they state that the MAP sensor will be replaced once they run out of them. Is anyone using the new sensor, and is anyone going to be switching over to the new AEM WB02 with display they are coming out with? Measure twice, cut once.
 
Just bought one for a 2g AWD to experiment with on a shop car.

The base map stinks. I couldn't even get the car started with it. It took me a day of research and some serious "get to know you" time to even make the car start and idle.

Also, the terms and abbreviations used are not very intuitive. However, I think that given enough time the system will prove itself to be very robust.
 
Anyone getting rid of their speed density setup? And what wideband are you guys using? I just read an article that showed AMS using the Innovative wideband with great success, and was just wondering your thoughts. It looks pretty bulky though, I guess I'm just waiting till somone uses the AEM gauge type.
 
I just received my EMS, UEGO and C2DI will be putting it in shortly. I have also found the base maps to be pretty crappy.

I am still witing for my 5bar map and IAT from AEM which hopefully should arive shortly. Obviously I will be running speed density on my car.

I'm interested in picking one of these up. I have a pretty basic question that those of you that have one, might be able to answer.

It states 10cyl capability. Does this mean that I could use this to put a fuel injection system on a V8? Or is it setup for 4cyls, and allows you to install additional injectors over and above the four already in the car?

I'm using the factory wiring harness in my v8 project and eventually I'd like to put a fuel injection setup on it. So, I'm curious if I can run 8 injectors and build a map that will support a v8?

Reading the website, it would appear so, but I'm not entirely sure.

Yes the EMS can control a V8 powered car, and with great success. You are however limited to what powerplant you are able to use with the EMS. Check out http://www.turbomustangs.com./index2.htm for some insane EMS powered cars. Also checkout AEM's forums for more in depth information on the EMS's abilities.

I have one on my '90 TSI. I also purchased the AEM UEGO WB. It's great but my tuning is not. Haven't had the time to give it the attention it deserves! Got it at RRE :thumb:

I've had mine for a week and i'm hav'ing a hell of a time getting it to run or idle right. I have 920cc, 272/272 cams, bj's intake, 3.5 bar aem, and aem wideband (not installed yet). Any help or maps you guys can give me would be great. Thanks.

I got one, I found a map on AEM site and its called 20psiNoKnock. The map works damn good, I get really good gas millages. Just need to tune for Hi end Power.
