I will be running aem ems on my 1g talon. Im building my own harness for the car and im removing as much as I can. I was wondering if I can remove the stock o2 wiring and just use my aem uego gauge to simulate the narrow band and feed the info to my aem ems. If so whats the best way to go about it? Thanks for all your help.

From what I have been told you can replace a stock 02 sensor with a wideband you just have to wire it into the existing plug and run wires for your gauge.....Now to make it show up on the ems I think you have to run extra wires to another plug in the ecu so it will show up on a laptop if thats what your wanting.....Its complicating I looked into it once.

that's what I was wanting to know.

so I'll be ok the go ahead and remove that part of the harness?

Yes, you can remove all of the factory O2 stuff. I rebuilt my engine harness also, and I removed all kinds of crap from my harness.

With the AEM EMS you do not even need to run an O2 sensor. It would be dumb, but with a stand alone you have 100% control over everything.

I'm just making sure I can use my uego tied into my ems in place of the factory o2

Yeah, you do not need the factory O2 with EMS. Actually, when running O2 feedback (Closed Loop), running both will make it difficult to tune. You'll be better off running just the UEGO and tuning with your AFR's. Only one wire needs to be ran from your UEGO to the ECU, that is the white 5V analog signal to pin #4 for O2 #1 or pin #66 for O2 #2 if you go that route. The other wires from the UEGO are just to make it operate. I rebuilt the harness in my 1G also, did a partial wire tuck while I was at it. Really cleaned up the look under the hood. Best of luck to you bro. I've been street tuning for almost 2 weeks and still am working on the driveability in vacuum with my cams LOL AEM FTMFW!!

Thanks everyone for all your help. Now I just have to figure out where to put the wideband o2 in the down pipe

Great info guys, I'm working on the same thing with my 2g using the series 1 AEM plug and play box 30-1310 and AEM gauge type wideband. My question is do I have to run on (P4) postion 4 on the back of the wideband to simulate the front 02 or can I just leave it like like it came from the aem factory?

from what i read you leave it in the factory posistion

from what i read you leave it in the factory posistion

My personal experience with doing this was about 2weeks after installation, I had a bad sensor and wideband controller. I can't say for sure it was a direct cause, but next time around I drilled and welded a bung in the downpipe before the flex pipe. Never had a problem after that.
The directions for an LC-1 specifically state to mount the sensor at least 36" away from turbine exit to protect sensor

I have read a lot of dsm and evo guys say they have ran it in the stock position for a long time with no issues though
