Well been away for awhile since I thankfully gave up my RS-t dreams, but now I have a 95 GS-T. Long story short i got it about a week ago had a pretty bad oil leak and it would not idle. Thinking it was the MAS i changed it out with a buddies and it did nothing, but his has been parked a few months with the motor pulled. I acidently started it without the Mas plugged in and it would idle just really rough and when i drove it there was no power until i hit 3k. So at this point my choices were unplug it and idle with no power or have it run great just not idle but i decided to limp it home and pull it in the garage to handle the oil problem. another long story short i just got the motor pulled and first thing i did was pull the clutch to mount it on the engine stand and its a 6 bolt block which was great considering i was going to do that when i started the rebuild. also in the back of the car was a complete gasket set and timing kit, along with valve stem seals so pretty much as long as everything checks out once i rip it apart just rod and main bearings and possibly rings need to be bought.
Now after the update is there anything i should need special for a 6 bolt block/7 bolt head combo because i know the gasket set and timing kit are for a 95 gsx because the box says so. and as far as i know only the water pump is obviously needed for 6 bolt. thanks guy and I look forward to getting more active on this site.

That kinda sucks that you gave up on the turbo but atleast you got and easier block to work with now. 420a's aren't the easiest things to work with and next thing you know they can't handle the power and you blow the rings. I hope your new dsm turns out okay and you fix some of those problems.:)

yea i miss my 420a but when it is built for forced induction it USUALLY handles it better than NA but they are still dsms so luck is always a factor but thanks for the reply hopefully its back together in a couple weeks with some new goodies if i can afford it LOL. the clutch was done but my buddy is hooking me up with a new 6 puck clutch and pressure plate. I love dsm friends they always hep out when they can.

Don't you just love awesome surprises like that? It's like paying for a $1 lottery ticket and winning $20. Except the 20 dollars requires constant maintenance and makes you want to spend every dime you have on it...so maybe it's not like that at all. Congrats on the new DSM and enjoy your future boost!

Also make sure they didn't force the over-sized 6 bolt head bolts into the 7 bolt head.

Thanks and yea the head looked fine so I guess it was actually done right minus the cas wiring, but the ecu wiring was done. So a few more odds and ins like vac lines and oil, and it should be ready to go so wish me luck if the idle problem is still there.
Plus the new toys should be here next week like the fmic 16g and manifold.

good luck! :p

ok motor is about done again. I was turning it over to prime the new turbo and realized the timing belt got a little loose. because this is the first time I have done timing on these cars it scared me a little and i towed it to my buddy's dad's shop and he is going to check back over it, i think i made the rookie mistake of putting the tensioner pully on the wrong way. Also I threw on a 16g and I am lookinh for a set of stock evo 8 injectors until I get a set it will just be running around 14psi. walboro 190 with rewire is the next thing im ordering later this week hopefully AFPR is sitting in the garage already. i was wondering if the evo injector will be ok without any tuning for a little while if i turn the boost up a little just until i can get a eprom and ecmlink. and also is there another way to tune it a little with out a eprom like a SAFC or something ive been reading so much its all blurring together now. does this set up sound like a decent one for now im thinking 18-20 psi on the 16g will keep me happy for now. ive also got a fmic to throw on it as soon as i find some piping.
