Ok guys and gals. I have a 1990 AWD TSI i got in a trade for a POS dirtbike that didn't run. So my tsi needs a complete engine rebuild. Before i started on the engine I have already started on the basics as of new breaks, new studs an lugs, getting ready to change out blown strauts, an so on. I started with the parts that are also important to keep the car safe to driveSo I've been searching for about a month now an getting my parts list filled but starting to run short on money. So the part i can't seem to figure out is what to get for a rebuild kit or piece one togather. The only things i found info on is bad reviews on some ebay kits and so on or to use 2g pistons with 1g rods..
All I'm trying to do is get my tsi back to stock or close to stock so i can drive my dream car agian.
I use to own one when i was 16 an it was a fwd turbo tsi. I have never had a awd and being dieing to get this one going.
So any help on what i should to for the engine rebuild would be great.
Thanks everyone
If money is an issue now, nothing will change unless you make more. This car is a money pit.
I know there are companies that sell gasket kits. Get one of those for the rebuild. Then its your choice if you want performance or OEM or OEM-like internals.
