i had a 1g bov on my car an i upgraded to the greddy rs. the problems that occurred since i made the change is: it idles a lil higher (1500rpms) an it feels as though i lost some power when i get on the throttle. so how i went about handling the idling situation i just adjusted the screw on the throttle body, brung it back down to were it is suppose to be. an for me loosing power? idk what to do.. should i recirculate it back into the intake or is it something bigger. an did i go about handling the idling situation the right way or should i approach a different way. i read other forums an people had similar questions, but i wanna make sure my situation is handled properly. im not here to get chastised or nothing like that. just want the car running right... so a lil help please

You must have your bov recirculated unless you're running a stand alone system or maft translator.

As long as the BOV doesn't leak running vented is only going to affect when you either shift or let off throttle. (this is the point at which metered air is escaping, post-maf leak).

If you had to jack with the idle after the install I'd start testing for leakage.

bov should recycle the air into the turbo's air filter tube. the MAF reads back flow and with out reading this air the bov vents it'll make the car run rough. especially when letting off the gas slowing down for a stop sign. the car will idle down a ton and wanna die. like stated above. id check for boost/vacume leaks and hook the bov up to the air filter tube like stock.

The BOV should be open a little at idle; I'm not sure if the valve being adjusted too tight and not letting airflow bypass at idle may effect actual idle speed or not.

Recirculate that valve or mod the 1G BOV to work again, and recirculate it as well. This is a topic that was discussed on the first day of DSM Kindergarten...you must've been absent that day.

Also, never tee your Manual Boost Controller into the BOV line. Most modern MBC's are a bleeder-design, which will undoubtedly effect how the BOV operates when on vacuum.

If you're interested in modding your 1G BOV to work with the Greddy flange, there are two good examples here (scroll down):

Heres a 50cent fix. I went to ace hardware witht he blowoff valve. Take off that purple peice and they can thread your a metal pipe to fit it. Then use your stock recirculate piping.
