Sarnia,
Hey all,
I was wondering if there are anydifferences on a MPI relay for a AWD turbo to a FWD Non turbo?

A ECU from a 5 speed AWD Turbo car will it work in a AWD Auto turbo car?

Car in question is a 91 talon, Darn thing has been acting sick.... Stalls and the MPI clicks like a Bitc*

Could this be a dieing fuel pump?

That I am not sure of. If it worked before, and now it isn't....i doubt thats the problem.

MPI relays are the same among 2.0L cars; 1.8L cars had different relays. A clicking MPI relay can be a number of things. Most commonly it is low battery voltage, bad MPI relay, or a bad ECU.
See Post 5 here on how to test the MPI relay and other useful reading: http://www.dsmtuners.com/forums/newbie-forum/263224-mfi-mpi-relay.html

The year is required to know the ECU compatibility. They will not work interchangeably (without tweaks to your car) if one is a 1990 and the other is a 91-94, at least not perfectly. If you are trying to swap a 1990 ECU into a 91+ car (or vice versa), you will need to swap pins 6 and 14 on the harness for it to work correctly. 1G ECU Pinouts

The differences between a manual and automatic ECU are due to the automatic car being equipped with a smaller turbocharger (13g vs. 14b), smaller injectors (390cc vs. 450cc), and a higher base fuel pressure (42-43 psi vs. 36-37 psi). Regardless, if the year of ECU is directly compatible, it should work without doing anything. How well is a completely different matter.
