ok, here's the scoop and i'm hoping someone will be able to answer a couple simple questions ### i've read thru hundreds of posts and haven't found it yet. i've seen a lot of posts about swapping an auto to a manual transmission but here's my situation. i blew the engine on my '93 eclipse FW not turbo 2.0 (4g63) and was gonna junk it, but a guy thru mutual friends gave me his '91 nt FW 2.0 for $500. the rest of the car is crap but the engine is good plus its a 5 spd. everything should be a straight swap out and i'm just doing it all in one peice (engine and tranny together). here's what i'm wondering though.
-- are the pin locations on the main wiring harness for the ECU the same for both??
Since i'm swapping both the engine and the tranny, when i plug in the MT ECU will i still have issues with the reverse lights and the speedo? (I am putting the instrument cluster in from the MT car as well, plus leaving the speedo cable connected to the new tranny so i'm hoping i won't need to adjust it, just run it thru the firewall in it's factory location and reconnect it to the cluster
-- secondly, will i run into any issues with the pinswitches on the clutch pedal in terms of connectivity with the wiring harness from the AT or will i need to jump wires to the MT ECU? (nuetral safety switch and the other one).
Most of the posts involve just swapping the tranny, so i'm not sure if these issues will effect my swap or not. please help if possible i'd really appreciate it
