A/C Not working??? Help

I have a 96 Mitsubishi Eclipse Gs.
The a/c will not turn on from inside the car. When I jump the pressure switch nothing changes. I know the a/c system work and runs great. I can jump the compressor on but jumping the relay and ice cold air comes out. I also know it is not the relay because I changed out the horn relay which I know works cause my horn works.
How can I jump the button inside to see if the button to turn it on is bad.
And could it be possible that it is the a/c ecu.
I need help let me know what I can do to help better.
I think the problem is electrical and somewhere between the relay and the button to turn it on thanks.

Did you pull out the controls to make sure the plug on the back is nice and secure? Maybe the wiring needs help back there.

Yea sounds like the button. take the panel off and just jump the button.

I do residential Hvac and we would jump the t stat wires for heat or ac to check it I would think that button is the same way like heat or cool on a stat
