99 Galant strut mount swap

Well, I had the first major scare in my gs. I was driving and the strut was rattling around in the rear. It turned out to be the mount for the strut was completely rusted through. Well, when there are no eclipses in the junkyard, what do you do? Find a galant! The whole suspension from the galant is the same, yet beefier. A quick call to the dealer to cross reference the part and we had a winner.

I'll show pics from the damage, but it's not pretty. Keep that in mind for when you need a quick fix, and have no 2gs to pull parts off!

Whoo hoo, I'll have a blog coming up in the next few days. Just picked up a steal on a 95 tsi awd!....doesn't run but for the price............DAMN couldn't pass it up. Now how i'll get it to oh from ga is got me boggled

Back on topic. Do we know what year galants came with the same strut mount? Was it a certian model galant or just any of them since there fwd?

Only positive that a 99-00 are the same. But I'm guessing that whole generation is the same. Also found out the Sebring upper control arms are aluminum and can be swapped to our cars. Rather than stamped steel.
