I'm having trouble with the long belt! And thanksI just put those belts back on yesterday. The power steering pump in your picture has two bolts behind it in a bracket and one in front. One of the back is just a pivot bolt but I loosened them all to make it easy. It's a 12mm head I cant remember offhand if I was able to use a ratchet or if I had to use a flat wrench. When its loosened up just pull the PS pump towards the water pump pulley. You'll still have to be patient threading the new belt in between the water pump pulley and the side of the engine bay. Tension the belt by prying gently against the PS pump. You should be able to twist the belt to 90 deg but it should be difficult to twist it beyond that. Alternatively you can look up belt deflection on the last page of the vfaq timing belt instructions. The alternator bracket was trickier for me. If that's the one you're talking about (longer belt) let me know. I like your valve cover dress up.
