Hey guys I've been looking into getting a full exhaust for my spyder. (headers back) only problem is trying to find something that'll work for a 4g64. I haven't had much luck. I've read that a 1st gen 4g63 n/t header will work, but what about the downpipe? just looking for someones 2 cents on this

Check out this thread for details on how to use a 4g63 NA header and downpipe on your 4g64.

But for the most part, upgrading an NA 4g64 exhaust is simply for looks and sound. Your not going to gain any noticeable performance and it's just not worth the cost IMO. The best and cheapest option would be to wrap or coat the stock header if you must, replace the cat with a high-flow unit or "test pipe", and install a cat-back exhaust/muffler (GST parts will fit).

Yeah Wiseman is right my last DSM was a 99 spyder, i had a full 3" straight pipe didnt feel any faster. I got alot of tickets LOL but if you want one thats on you. I had a 420a exhaust up to a 1st gen header. It bolted right up. I honestly dont understand it but it works perfectly.

Thanks for the posts guys. Its not the gains i was looking for. The exhaust had more holes than a piece of swiss cheese. Completely oem from the factory and never maintenanced until i got my hands on it. Had a bit of fun last night though, went from stock headers and fabricated a piece from the downpipe to the cat-back. Figured it may just be a more logical way to go since this car is the grey area of dsms. But a few welds and some curse words later, shes better than ever.
