Sup guys,

After doing a search on the forum and only coming up with seven threads under "Spyder GS Exhaust", I decided I needed to post my own question to hopefully get some straight and most importantly accurate answers.

I'm looking into purchasing an exhaust for my 99 Spyder GS which has a 2.4 ENGINE but am limited as to what will fit and what will be the overall performance. Unfortunately there arent many aftermarket parts for my car I realize that but I am trying to make the best of the little bit that I have. Can Spyder GS owners with 2.4 ENGINES give me some feedback as to what will fit my car and what will be the overall performance??

Also can someone give me a brief definition on the different types of exhaust's (i.e. catback, flo-cat etc.) and the overall benefits as far as performance? I'm really unfamiliar with the different types of exhaust.

This will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

do a custom exhaust. catback is from the catalitic converter to out the back of the car a full exhaust is everything from the manifold back, and the down pipe is from the manifold to the cat. then there is different types of mufflers and we arnt going to get into that.

A custom exhaust sounds like a bit of a headache, does that mean I would need to purchase an exhaust and go to a muffler shop for custom piping?

I dont think GReddy Evo 2 Catback Exhaust are made for the Spyder GS 2.4 engines.

Get the GReddy Evo 2 Catback Exhaust. Its full stainless, has 2.5" piping and sounds good. Usually sells for around 535.00. :dsm:

QFE. Very mild, yet deep sound. Anyway, it doesnt really matter, just get yourself a good namebrand 3" catback and be done with it. Then get on to the important stuff, like which turbo and internals to get. :thumb:

Sorry, I thought exhaust and muffler were one in the same. Goes to show you how much I know. :(

I heard that I could swap my current exhaust for a GS-T exhaust and that it will give me more HP plus sound a little better. Anyone know if this is true
