'97 GST to '90 TSI AWD Motor Swap

Before you flame me, the motor from my 2g was a 6-bolt. So I'm not a total dumbass, just kinda. I just wanted to know if anyone had any pictures of their 1g engine bay, when i look at the motor, and then look at the engine bay, i just don't see anything lining up. Can anyone give me any info, tips, or pictures of a 1g engine bay showing how everything bolts up?

if its a 6 bolt everything will bolt up no problem. theres much more room in a 1g engine bay

just seems like none of the mounts that bolt to the engine would fit right in the 1g engine bay, how many mounts are there to hold it in, 3? we were putting it in from the bottom, we have it jacked up and we took the front cradle out, so we were putting it in that way

you would be correct on the mounts, yes theres three mounts, drivers side front and rear of engine

On a 2g car, there are 3 mounts on the trans and one on the engine. On a 1g car, there are 3 mounts on the engine, and one on the trans. So if the engine you are pulling does not have the front and rear mounts on the engine, you'll need to buy the brackets and bolts to put them on. But if it is a 6 bolt, there should be threaded holes to bolt in the engine mounts.
