Awesome article. Only thing I saw was that they wrote you made 492whp with the 20g. It was the the HY, right?

Yea, I just sent them the dyno sheet and explained I'm now running a new 20g setup, I guess they didn't really know how to put it together. The 20g is going to make about the same power anyways, so I'm not too worried about correcting it

I think that my gf would just drool over this car. I'm sitting here drooling over the car, from both the style (I love love love the plaid interior) to the power that it makes. Amazing car :)

Ran across this thread searching for information on clipped turbos. Awesome car, great build and your serious passion for DSMs is hardcore. Loved the whole thread.

Someone messaged me and asked for an update on the thread because I haven't posted in awhile. My passion for DSM's has slowed down a little, I've been bitten by the 2-wheel bug and bought a bike.

    10502497_10204273750470474_6442719220957718469_n.jpg

But it will keep my occupied as I've decided to pull the stock 6-bolt block and built it to a 2.3l stroker. I've got most of what I need, but I haven't found the time to get it done.

Parts: Manley "Turbo Tuff" I-beams, Wiseco 85.5mm 9:5:1 pistons, ARP main studs, ACL rod & main bearings, Kiggly girdle, H11 headstuds, DSMLink and of course, powdercoated pink Brembos.

So yea... whenever I get the time to take her apart and put her back together, I'll be sure to post updates. Until then, the bike will keep me occupied, LOL.

Im pretty much updating this thread for my own personal record. I've noticed how dead forums have gotten since Facebook pretty much took over for the dumbasses that don't like to look for answers to questions.

Anyways... I found an AWD donor shell! Its complete (no engine), all I need is an AWD flywheel and to cut my existing GReddy exhaust to work.

I work 60 hours a week and I had surgery lately, so thats been slowing me down. Its coming along veeeeeery slowly.

    IMG_3269_zps11fb26d1.jpg

Pulled the engine in my car to prepare the block for a new 2.3l bottom end

    IMG_3226_zps9b3ff62d.jpg

And to start shaving the bay...

And I finally picked up a Calan catch can! :)

Yea, it should only take another month or 2. Plenty of time to tune it, dyne it, and put her to work :)

By far the best thing I've done to my DSM, the AWD swap. It's like a different car (obviously).

The brake line tuck is interesting, not sure if I have seen it done behind the firewall or not.

That 2.3L torque will be awesome with the newly gained traction!! Keeping the same turbo setup, valvetrain, cams, etc?

Ive seen the brake line tuck on other cars, and I like how clean it looks. I didn't want to paint over them, it seems very half-assed. If I took them off to paint, I might as well move them completely out of the way, haha.

Yes, everything else is staying the same. Built head, turbo, etc.

...guess I should use the forums to check for updates to your 2g too, not Facebook. LOL

What did you use to build the brake lines, any write-ups/videos you watched first or any advice? I'm installing a staging brake and I'd like to use hard lines but I've never built them...

What color are you going to powder coat that Calan catch can?

I found this video helpful, it tells you a couple different options when it comes to technique.

Im going to leave the catch can bare silver. Ive got enough pink & purple in my bay, Id like to leave some things silver as a contrast.

And I officially purchased my DSM's own tow vehicle yesterday :D I just need to borrow a trailer and everyone will see my car at the Shootout this year

07 Toyota Tundra crewmax. Leather, sunroof, heated seats, bluetooth, the whole 9 yards. I absolutely love it :D
