Cochrane,
All right guys, I have a 96 TSI AWD and just recently swapped a 6 bolt block in it I got from I guy I work with, stroked it and through her in. I am using my 2g head and a Cometic head gasket. I used Road Race Engineerings method of modifying all 2g parts to fit on the 1g block. The problem started when I flashed her up and started to hear the lifter ticking. I stopped the motor pulled off the valve cover and to my dismay; the valve train was not getting any oil. If you have pulled apart one of those heads you will know about the oil distribution block thing (I dont know what you would call that) on the left hand side of the motor (If you are looking at it from the front) I pulled that off, it was dry, damn. I just cant figure this out. I took the timing belt off and hit the oil pump with a drill to spin it up. I know I have oil pressure because the high pressure oil feed line for the turbo has pressure and so does the sending unit, just none up at the valve train! I took a piece of copper wire and slipped it down the oil feed hole for the head, it goes down almost to where the head gasket would be, but then it stops. Could it be the head gasket? All help is appreciated. Thanx
