6 bolt swap

You need to use 6 bolt headbolts/studs and you need to drill the 7 bolt head because the 6 bolt bolts/studs are larger diameter than 7 bolt.

Switching the plugs is easy, you take your coilpack with the wires attached and you just slide them down in the order they are. The first 2 wires will become the last 2 wires and the wires that were in last 2 positions become the first two.



2gb eclipse front: front bumper and headlights
2gb talon front: just front bumper, all talons have 2ga headlights
2gb eclipse sides: 2 piece sideskirts on each side so 4 pieces total
2gb talon: they don't have sideskirts

I'm not familiar with rear stuff.

Cool i figured id have to re bore the head bolts in the 7 bolt head due to the 1mm size difference.

Do you have a pic of the wire switch? Just depin and re-pin them? Pics would help i dont wanna hack my mint engine harness.

I just need to find out about the rear bumper for the talons. I know the eclipse needs some wiring and a bunch other stuff done.

There is no hacking needed, you just unplug them.

Switch the plug wires to the spark plug? It cant be that easy or can it?

You just switch the wires at the coil pack...just go look at it and you will see. It's to change the firing order.

Wow i did not think it was that simple. So all i do is switch the plug wires at the coil pack 1/4 with 2/3 and thats it?

I still dont understand why if all i am doing is keeping everything 2g electronics all i am doing is switching out he blocks. The head and intake mani stay 2g.

You don't switch plug wires if you are keeping the 2g head i think so this doesn't concern you but don't quote me on that. Ive had a 6 bolt in my car since 2005 so i forget these little details.

When my 7 bolt walked, this is what I ordered: karking.com It allowed me to go 6 bolt bottom with 2g head. If it worked perfectly until I had a malfunction external to the engine that screwed everything up. It's a plug and play version of the 6 bolt for the 2g and from the build notes, I believe it explains a lot. I had to purchase a kiggly kit for my automatic transmission to bolt to the block. I also purchased an external oil cooler and SS lines to run from the oil filter housing to the oil cooler. That was basically it aside from misc small parts (bolts and etc...)

All i am gonna do is throw the 2g head with intake mani with all the 2g sensors on it onto the 6 bolt block. Thats it, as simple as i can put it.
