OK both my 6 bolt and my old 7 bolt engines are stripped down. I'm doing a 6 bolt swap in my 95 tsi. Can I swap the plates where the oil filter housing and balance shaft belts are? Just pull pull the one off my 7 bolt block and put it on my 6 bolt block?

YOU CAN NOT SWAP COVERS BECAUSE THE OIL PASSAGES WILL NOT LINE UP. BIG NO NO. If you machine the passages to fit the six bolt then you can. If you have a complete six bolt you will not need the oil pump cover from the six bolt. unless the six bolt one is trashed. then you buy a new one. :thumb:

Thanks for the info. Yeah I do need a new one. The one on my 6 bolt was cracked and someone used jb weld on it

You should be able to.
Don't spread misinformation, not that you can't do it, but it's in no way a bolt on affair.

If and when you do get a new cover, go with mitsubishi. Don't settle for Toplines piece.

Last time I checked (which was right now) I wasn't tyring to spread mis-information. And yes you're right, it is by no means a bolt on application and that is were I wasn't thinking. I know how I did it and that was my train of thought.

Sorry about the mis-information.
