6 bolt swap low oil psi

OK i looked and looked and found some good info but not much i have a 6 bolt swap and at start my oil psi is 100+ psi then goes down and when it is worm it is very low and on free way Cruz its only at like 15psi if that WTF i have the balance shaft taken out and a 2.3 stroker i don't know if that helps but im just scared i am going to wreck something any one want to shed light ??
 
that's really hard to answer. Could be 100 different things. oil pickup seal, oil filter housing, pressure relief, oil cooler, balance shaft bearings....did you spin them to block the oil port. main bearings bad, rod bearings bad. oil squirters leaking/sticking open,oil pump failing...etc...

What oil cooler are you running. I used to run a B&M with -10 lines....my oil pressure was always lower than everyone elses, but never had engine trouble, it was because of the size of the -10 lines.

Please elaborate.
 
i am not using a oil cooler i have a balance shaft kit removed by auto Jackson machine i have anti tick lifters i mean for oil its basic for me . i mean it starts out real hi and goes down after it worms up like i was driving on free way the other day and only had 25psi

25 psi at idle? if its at idle is really good men
 
Instead of saying you have 25psi on the expressway how about telling us what RPM it was at when you are at 25psi. Things said above, balance shaft bearing, what Oil are you using? Oil pump is very suspicious. Do you have oil squirters? Is the car leaking any oil?
 
i had the shop put in the bse all i had to do was put a cap on it i have a stock oil pump i have after market "anti tick lifters " and i was at about 2500-3000 rpm. i have a small oil leak from the turbo drain but not bad at all im using 10w-30

The said shop could of very well not rotated the bearings, or rotated the rear instead of both of the fronts.

If you have 25psi at 2500rpm you are right in where you should be.

There could be a possibility that your oil pressure sending (sensor) unit providing the information to your oil pressure gauge has become defective. Basically, the gauge interprets false information from the sensor unit. Your described readings happened to me after I operated my new 2.3L with a BSE kit because of the increased amount of vibration subjected to the sensor unit. After getting a new sensor unit, the new unit needed to be installed using a line (braided hose) making the unit relocated away from the OFH to allow no more vibration damage (the line/hose absorbed the vibrations, and the unit was braced by the frame). If you have a mechanical oil pressure gauge, then disregard my contribution.

i have the that sender in the pic its new.

Rule of thumb: 10psi for every 1000 rpm is healthy.

Whats your idle oil pressure fully warmed up?

If your idle is at 750rpm (stock) I wouldn't be concerned about 10psi. I have about 11psi with the balance shaft elim kit with a 750RPM idle.

Like I said earlier, if you are seeing at least 10psi per 1k rpm, you should be alright.
1k RPM-10psi or higher
2k RPM-20psi or higher
3k RPM-30psi or higher
so on and so forth...

With these numbers in mind, what would be a "way too much oil pressure" number? Or does it stay at a certain psi once it reaches a certain rpm? Because based on this pattern 80 psi at 8k is ok?

The OFH has a an oil bybass valve that opens once it has reached a certain pressure level. Many guys including my self, when faced with high oil pressure due to BSE, port the casting around this valve opening so the the pressure is relieved sooner. For what it's worth, I have seen 80psi and well below 8k. I didn't get concerned until I was seeing the 100+psi at cold startup (due to BSE, hence the reason I ported my relief valve)
