Ok so I'm not that great of a mechanic. After making a few runs I noticed my car was starting to bogg down a lot so i took it for a test drive. Going threw the gears at 3000rpm my car boggs down and sputters, however my stock boost gauge is to the max and I can hear a rediculous amount of air leak! First I thought for some reason my bov wasn't right so I put my 1g stock bov on but no change there. The car runs fine if I'm not building boost but as soon as i give it gas and start to build boost it boggs down and will not go. Is it just my stock turbo is shot and new to upgrade or what? PLEASE help and give some advice or whats wrong!

My opinion check for leaks....

Also when was the last time you changed your sparkplugs??

First I thought for some reason my bov wasn't right so I put my 1g stock bov on but no change there.

on your aftermarket BOV did you recirculate the air or is it dumping into the atmosphere?

:rocks:

Actually just lookin and listening it sounded like there was a leak from the intake manifold but I couldn't really find it. I'm gonna check on it more later but would that mean I would need a new manifold? My aftermarket bov was vented to the atmosphere but it had been running fine until now.

That is the first thing I'm going to check. I've been told my fuel pump is gone out which is why it's not holding boost. All my spark plugs have been replaced recently, and everything had been fine until now. I just dont want to spend money on something i dont need when it was simple to fix.

Rule number one, never trust your stock boost gauge. If you hear a leak, you have a leak! Check for boost leaks and pre-turbo exhaust leaks.

Rule number two, don't vent. It may not fix your problem entirely, but I guarantee your car will run better if you recirculate your BOV.

Did you remember to gap your plugs? Specs are .028" for our cars.

Don't jump the gun and assume your fuel pump is gone or what not. Instead start by checking the little things first (boost/exhaust leaks, plugs and wires, etc.) and go from there. :thumb:

Definitely sounds like a boost leak. Probably something minor, like a vacuum line coming off or something.
