Hello all

Well, my car was sent to Barcelona for some fixes at an import car technician (finding a good technician for non european cars in Spain can be quite hard) and well.

He has two Eclipses right now, both being 96 GS. He states that both car do not have the same engine, the other one as a "Dodge engine" (I assume a 420A), and he states that mine has the old engine on Eclipses. I assume again, 4g63.

Is it possible? In models guide it is stated that 95-99 N/T are powered by 420A.

So, what's going on? My car VIN does match a 96 GS. Previous owner could have it swapped? My fab date is 95. (maybe it can help)

Thank you all

Solution
In Europe & everywhere else in the world, 2G RS/GSs came with the 4G63 (naturally aspirated), not the 420A. US is the only country that got the 420A in the 2G cars.
Car is running back once more!

hited 133mph yesterday on a industrial zone. :) Now, it's time to get some plates for it

try to understand it...
There are no 4g63 n/t engines in 2g eclipses...

all 2g n/t cars have 420a engines,
D32 = means the car is GS-T

Dude, don't be that persistent. My 96 GS also has a 4G63 engine in it, i think the cars made for the European market has this engine installed. I'll check up on my papers but I think it says D30(?). Anyways, engine is stock, never swapped.
Ticks like an A420 though...

yeah it already came clear in the earlier posts that indeed 2g n/t was brought to european market with 4g63 engine, and the us models had the 420a engine.

Sorry i was so dumb before

I thought i knew it 100% but i didn't.... well now i know :thumb:

This is why these boards are great, learning new stuff all the time.

Sounds like it is time to sell the EURO car. As for the oil pump. Try this place. Just make sure you have a part number. It is one of the cheapest places in the States to get Mitsu Parts from an actual dealer.

Being part of ClubDSM gets you a discount still, I think.

Hi again:

I don't have an Euro Spec car. I have a US Spec car, in Europe, so I have to order the replacement to USA.

Just order it online and have them ship it to you. The link above is nice or else you can contact mitsu graveyard in the sponsors section.

I bough a Tigra today!

Yep yep, wrecked tigra, front damage, missing engine and trans. Whole rest perfect. Paid for it $160.
I also bought today the engine and trans from a Tiburon (aka Hyundai coupe) so I will be busy the next two or three months (I will try to mount it, if not, my uncle will come in three months and he will do the job). It's a nice car, very comfortable and cheap.

I know it's cheap because original parts are WEAK. Working on it Looking for a nice front bumper now and radiator.

Also looking for someone with a tow truck near (And CHEAP).
I'm running out of funds... I had to pay today $500 also for a trans for my GS...
And I will have to travel this weekend to BCN in order to give the trans to the technician....
(wich will cost me around $300 in labour time plus diesel expenses)

Tigra is the only small sized car I love.... And the only european car that I love also.... Please, be kind with it.

PS: Trading a dsm for a tigra? Still not isane mate!

Sounds like you have a project that is taking away your Eclipse money. :p

To sum up, I also have to pay the insurances :p
95 Eclipse 1200€/year
94 3000GT 1650€/Year

That kills ;)
