Does anybody know why the water temp gauge will drop while your going down the road? I think it may be a bad thermostat but not sure. Whats some good coilovers for a cheap price? How many quarts of oil and what kind of oil would work best to get good performance?

Very well could be a bad T stat. The one that goes to the gauges is the single wire 1/8 not one.

Good coil overs that are reasonably priced are Megan racing or tein basics.

Usually takes about 4.5 ish quarts. Depending on how many miles are on the car convensional oil won't be that detrimental to performance. If it has a lot of miles I would run Mobil 1 high mileage.

Ok i have a 96 rs and it has rear drum brakes i was wondering how hard it would be to switch to disc?

As long as you have all the parts, including brake cables from a Gs or GSt it's just disassembling and installing. Nothing hard or custom fab about it.

AWD disk caliper mount plates will not work though. Try to source everything off a Gs or GSt and you will be all set.

The only thing I don't like about the 3G suspension is the lower lateral arm where the sway bar attaches. The 2G design is much better but the 3G design was probably a cost reduction for Mitsubishi.

Does it matter what kind of spring you put on the strut? I bought on from amazon and it only came with the strut itself, and im not sure if i can use any kinda spring

Just a stock replacement strut? You should be able to use your stock springs no problem or any lowering springs available for the fwd 2g eclipse/talon.

my stock strut busted and i bought this one and it didnt come with the spring and in the pic it has four but it only came with one it says that it has 5 adjustable ways so im not sure if i need lowering springs or not?

The 5 way adjustable is the dampening setting of the strut.

I as for spring figment I know tokico makes springs for them. I would assume any eclipse spring would fit them.

So you only got one strut not all 4? The car is going to feel very awkward with 1 new strut and 3 old ones. You typically replace them in pairs. Fronts or rears. Or all 4.

yea i know im not putting it on yet im waiting till i get all 4. i feel like those aren't really good so i might try to get a refund and buy some different ones what do you think? are the good?

Personally I have not used them but there are plenty of people in this community that have and the general consensus is they are a decent setup for the money.

You might be able to find a whole set forsale on here. They pop up from time to time.

I run tein basic coilovers. I like them. They are stiff and not really adjustable but I also got a great deal on them slightly used.
