96 5-speed in a 99 RS?

My 99 RS needs a new 5 speed and a friend just bought a 96 RS parts car. I'm sure the 96 tranny will swap in but I'm wondering if everything is a direct bolt on or does anything need to be changed from one to the other?

It should be a direct bolt on. Is your car a 5 speed as well?

yes it's a direct bolt in I have a 97 tranny in my 98 gs, and a 99 in my 95 both n/ts. so yeah it'll fit right in there
