I have the chance to grab a 95 eprom, untouched. In return the seller wants my 97 ECU. Could I plug the 95 into my 97 and run like that for a couple weeks untill I order DSMLink? Thanks guys. WHy or Why not. Thanks -Matt

I believe you should be able to do it but it may not run 100%. You will have to swap the plug wires, 1 with 2 & 3 with 4, but also the 97+ have a CAS that is inverted from the 95 & 96 signal. This will fire the injectors in a different order. There is an option in Dsmlink to invert the CAS but you won't be able to do anything about this. The do say in most cases, this produces very little noticeable difference in drive quality

Couldn't you just swap the injector wiring just like the spark plug wires? I imagine some won't reach, but you could extend the wires, right?

So Ill just have to switch the order of my plug wires and thats it? Seems simple enough, but it has to be sure. Here the situation...

I have an Eprom on the way...then I see this add for an eprom and its for 100 plus my stock ecu....I was thinking I could easily make a profit on this eprom.

Then I realized 2 95's but mines a 97 I didnt know how it would run...What would you guys do ? Thanks.

Changing the wires at the coil pack is all you need to do and it will remain that way even when you run dsmlink.
Just stand in front of your engine and looking at the coil pack from the passenger side to the driver side, switch the 1st one with the 3rd one and the 2nd one with the 4th one. DONE!

Great news ! Thanks I told him ill take it for 100 and my ECU. You guys are a GREAT help.

Don't worry about the inverse signal. The DSMLINK takes care of that so don't touch those injector wires! However, spark plug firing order you have to change.

Anyone over here care to chime in on this?

Quick, question....I got DSMLink actaully here at my house today and I just realized 2 things. 1. I dissabled my clutch safty switch from the pedal assembly by dissconnecting it so I would not have to hit the clutch everytime I got in the car. Im assuming I will now have to reconnect that AND hook up the provided clutch cut wires accordingly. Correct?

Also I Inverted my plug wires from 4-1-2-3 to 3-2-1-4 so I could run the 95 Eprom in my 97 GSX untill I got my socketed Eprom back. My question is do I put them back as they came from factory for a 97 GSX, or do they stay as I moved them? Thanks.-Matt

I have the invert cas option.

I'm not sure about your clutch safety question, but yes, you'll need to leave the plug order swapped even with DSM Link installed since it's using the 1995 firing order.

Thanks Andy, Ill leave it in. Anyone on the clutch issue? Im guessing since its an electrical conection thats activated by the clutch depression then it will most likly be a manditoy hook up.

Just asked my buddy and he has his clutch safety switch disabled and is using no lift to shift with no problems. So all you have to do is hook up the wires provided by ECM tunign and you should be good to go. Good question as i have my safety switch disabled as well and i will be hooking up the clutch wire to use the antilag sometime soon.

No you can leave the clutch start switch disconnected, you don't tap into this when doing the clutch wire mod. You leave the sprark plug wires swapped, how you have them and check off invert CAS if you didn't order the chip with that as a default.

Thanks again, for the goodinfo...Im going out now to wire everything up. It feels good to get all this money I spent on mods finally here as something physcial I can touch haha. Thanks

Matt, how did it run with the 95 ecu before installing dsmlink? I just picked up a cheap '95 Talon and I'm going to put the ecu in my gsx. I just want to verify everything works correctly before buying dsmlink. Did you bother swapping injector plugs? It doesn't look like there is enough room in the harness, so I'd probably just live with getting a possible CEL until I was able to invert the signal with dsmlink.

Hey, I threw in the eprom for about 1 day and then sent it off to get socketed. I did swap plug wires and the car fired up and idles fine. no missing or anything. I didnt really drive it though I just figures I would wait, but it DID fire up and idle fine.

Cool thanks. I probably try it soon enough then save for the chip. If you ever need a 97 ecu to borrow for inspection let me know.
