and now to the gem...

When I first received the car an older Chinese man had owned it for years, decided he didn't like the green so gave her a brand new black paint job, A/C works and the car runs great, only has 130K miles on it and body was great. Paid $2000 and pleaded with the man to hold it while I was gone for 3 weeks, it was meant to be

still missing something though

Well I deployed with the Marines too Iwakuni Japan again and this time we took A trip to Okinawa, I had high hopes that I would find all sorts of rare goodies but after speaking to many people they said it was next to impossible to find an Evo 1-3 in the junkyard in good shape, I searched all the local yards to no reward. WELL one day I was f***ing off on a base south of Kadena and visited Typhoon Motors.... I Literally was so excited I started to tear up. Right in front of me was my unicorn, my car I had dreamed of finding, a 1995 Evolution 3 GSR, I asked the gentleman if it was a junkyard car and he said yes it was just dropped off yesterday. I asked him then how much parts would cost... hood? $45, trunk and wing? $45 Whole car? let me get my manager... basically I had stumbled on a gold mine. They saved the car for me for 4 days and since I only had 2 weeks left in kuni before I left to Thailand my only hope was to strip the car and mail everything home. I spent $1380 on all parts and shipping Space-available. ONE HELL OF A DEAL

How I found her

NOW I know instantly what you all are thinking, transmission, rear end, transfer case etc... no I DID NOT TAKE IT! If you knew how little time I had to make this all possible, budget, mail weight restrictions etc you would understand, trust me I wanted to ship the whole damn car home but couldn't. I did what I could and only have one regret that I didn't grab the rear trailing arms and busted US passenger seat to fix it over here but f*** IT I saved myself thousands pulling it myself. Sourcing these parts on eBay is so expensive, these third world nations could buy a house for the price they sell one of these seats for... ridiculous. so the plunder

Ughh I hate you!! Not really just super jealous. Whats the reason you werent able to ship the whole car? Excited to see how this goes!
well I was only on okinawa for another 2 weeks by the time I found the car and only had around $3k in the bank + buying the car without SOFA status (status of forces agreement) was next to impossible legally. plus shipping the entire car would have been a tremendous ammount, found bad rust on the entire front end too. I had a donor mirage in the states so f*** it. My girlfriend is moving to Canada from Australia soon so ill just get an Evo up there and have her import it when it hits that legal year soon... WINNING!

They are not bolt in. Just evo 1-3 are bolt in. But you can cut and fab in a 1g rear end a few mirage guys have done it.
yeah that was originally plan A, after I find a 4 bolt rear for my TSI Ill be using my 3 bolt for the Evo since im only looking for mid 300HP for auto cross
