As the end of college nears, and the reality of a decent paycheck becomes evident, I'd like to begin documenting each step of my '94 Talon "rebuild". I intend this Blog or Journal to be an entertaining glimpse into the project of a young and motivated DSMer who hopes to realize the true potential of the 4G63 platform.
Background: It's been almost a full year since I purchased my 1994 Eagle Talon TSi AWD from my younger brother. He was no longer interested in the continual upkeep of a DSM. After a costly engine rebuild, he decided to sell the car to me in hopes of purchasing a more reliable daily driver. At that point the car already had several "bolt-on" goodies including a Big 16G turbo, Supra side mount intercooler, ACT 2600 clutch, 680cc injectors, 190 lph fuel pump, and a Keydiver Stage III chip.

Since then I have added a VRSF FMIC and a Mishimoto radiator w/ slim fans.

I found a video of the car from its "glory days" on a local forum!

Present: Currently, I take the car to Auto-X events every now and then and also attend local meets and cruises. Keeping it running as a daily driver can sometimes be a task in itself!

Future: The Talon will slowly become a admirable street/strip machine! Clean exterior, nice interior, and most importantly... an exhilarating ride.
My first step toward this goal will be DSM Link V3. I believe that full comprehension of tuning and engine management is fundamental to my project's success; much more than being able to "bolt on" the fun go-fast parts!
I look forward to updating this journal with technical details and ideas as I acquire and install new parts or make significant progress on the car.
