can someone please explain what i need to do to remove my internal cooled 92 oil filter housing. the 8mm hex bolt is stripping and i need to rout my ss oil feed from that location. i want to remove the housing to take it to a machine shop and get the hex bolt removed but im stuck on how to remove this housing. ive searched but there is no detailed answer to my question, not even on vfaq. please help. thanks in advance

You have one more bolt to go, Under the Tbelt cover You can get it with out removing the cover with a wee bit of feness but it can be done (Idid it) but if you crack and brake it you will be looking at $100++ to replace.

Have you thought about having it helicoiled, There is plenty of room for a 90degree drill.

i know im not suppose to bump up my thread but i really need help removing the filter housing. can anyone please help??

When I first read your post I thought you bunged the threds up on the housing, but after rereading BUCKS idea the torch and easy out should get the job done. Also for more access take down the left frame rail (6 bolts) that gives you room to work.
