So I swapped a 6 bolt into my 97 eclipse gst but the engine is sitting in crooked and is way lower than it should be I am using the 1g motor mount because the 2g mounting holes are further apart any suggestions would be great

You have to use a 2G mount on the driver side. However, the mount needs to be grinded to allow for the 6 bolt water pump to be bolted on. Do a search for this and it should lead you in the right direction. I don't have the link right now that I used for my swap, or I'd post it for you.

Also, are you doing a full 6 bolt swap or 6 bolt short block with a 2G head?

Thanks for the replies and do you think the 2g mounting bracket will work on the 1g engine have both 1g motor mount and bracket same with 2g I'm doing the whole 6 bolt swap just ran into this problem

You MUST use all 2G engine mounts. It has to be this way since 6 bolt engines had the roll stop mounts attached to the block, and 2G cars have them attached to the transmission. So use the 2G mounts and it'll bolt in just fine.

Since you have a 97, you shouldn't need to swap the injector or plug firing orders. If you have the coils from the 97's original engine and you know they worked, put them in and see if it works. The 91's coils could be bad, but you'd need a multimeter to see.

Sorry for the delay, if you smell burnt wires, you need to track down what got fried and replace it. If you fried the coil wires and you attempt more start ups, you could risk an engine fire.

Okay I'll try to find where it's coming from all the wires are fine smoke was coming from under the intake I couldn't feel anything hot but I heard sizzling thanks for the help btw

Yeah but underneath and that 97 motor mount bracket doesn't work there's a stud in the way and it overlaps onto the water pump please help!!!!!

Well now I took the stud out but the bracket doesn't like up the water pump is in the way

The 2G mount must be trimmed to fit around the 1G water pump. That is covered in any reputable 1G engine in a 2G guide.
