way more patience then I have for wiring. It's my least favorite part of working on a car. Luckily mine came with a perfect harness with no broken clips or any issues.

Car is clean and looks sick. What else are you waiting on to put the panels all back on?

Phase 1 Complete! Car is 100% back together, registered, tagged, insured, and full of 100 octane fuel!

I haven't taken too many photos of the car yet so I'll post the 2 that I do have. Had a buddy of mine make my UICP, moved the BOV as close to the TB as possible, and put the bung for the IAT on the underside so you can't see it, got my matching couplers in the mail, as well as the fittings for the catch can.

The car had a lot of boost leaks and we addressed the majority of them but there are still a few small ones, previously the car had been dialed in at least to idle and city driving, but after fixing the boost leaks it was all out of a whack again. Still can't get her to idle right, but I'm sure its just a matter of time.

But we went out Saturday night to the local rice night and it was quite dissapointing I didn't see anyone I knew, and it was pretty dead, so we decided to just drive up and down the highway and tune the car. It's FAR from perfect but got it running a decent AFR on 20lbs, using the electronic boost solenoid from ECMLink was a great idea from Vic, controlling boost Via DSMLink is awesome to say the least.

Unfortunately the battery died in my laptop so we couldn't continue tuning and it looked like a relatively boring night, but we ended up running into some fun right before the end of the night. I had a "Spirited Driving" encounter with an SRT8 300, Turbo 240, and modded 06-08ish STI.....Needless to say the ole 4g63 dished out some pain. It's only on 20lbs, and tuned "ok" at best, hoping for 25-26lbs on an optimal tune.

Can't wait to bring it out to some meets, here are the three pictures I have, I'll take more soon.

Keep it up!

Perfection. I really enjoy seeing a complete strip down of your Talon and rebuild. I hope someday I will do the same. Its a work of art and its got some serious balls.:hellyeah:

I am guessing I'm going to get some hate for the pictures but dude, your build is incredible and that intake is epic.

build looks great! i live the other way on i10, i would love to come by and check out the car in person. Also, if you or any of your buddies have some spare parts, i could pickup some parts there too.

Definitely, we'll be having some meets set up soon I'm sure.

But - As far as the project goes, I had buyers remorse after purchasing and running the HTA68, this whole project snowballed out of control as most DSM projects go and I feel that I will quickly outgrow the HTA68.

I plan on having a forged bottom end by the end of the year and I didn't think I'd be satisfied with the HTA68 anymore.

Taking advantage of the fact that its essentially brand new, and the recent price hike (I got mine before that) I figured now is the time to sell it and not lose my ass on it.

The Replacement : A new FP DSM HTA86, Tial 44 MVR wastegate, pre-fabbed FP dump tube, FP inline filter/restrictor, and a 3" V-band side exit exhaust!

Although disappointing that I only got to take the car out once before downing it again, I already sold the 68 and only lost $100 on it, I was expecting to have it back up this coming weekend, but unfortunately FP builds these turbos to order, so I was told it should be about two weeks, so I'm DSMless again, praying to see a UPS truck haha.

I saw this picture online and I had to post it, anyone got any babies they want to get rid of ?

My new HTA86 and Tial 44 along with some other misc items, dump tube, inline filter/restrictor shipped this past Friday and will be arriving tomorrow! I took a half day at work so I can be home for the UPS delivery!

I picked up a vband side exit as well that will be going on as well.

I plan on having the car up and running by the weekend, I'll post pics of the turbo tomorrow when I get my hands on it!

Ahhh, sweet rejoice, finally my goodies from FP showed up, I even took a half day at work to ensure that I was around when UPS showed up, signature required of course.

FP HTA86 , for those unfamiliar its essentially a GT3586 in their FP30 style bolt on housing.
Tial MVR 44mm w/dump(being extended to run next to the side exit)
FP Inline filter/restrictor
2.5" to 3" V-band transition flange to go from the 2.5" V-band on the turbo to my 3" V-band side exit.

I picked up the side exit from a guy on the Link forums a few weeks ago, just been patiently waiting for this to show up, as long as I can get the welding I need done I'm hoping to come out on Saturday. Also picked up some exhaust wrap for the side exit and fire sleeve for my oil cooler lines, they run awfully close to the exhaust and just wanted to ensure that they would be safe from the heat.

Beyond excited to get this bad boy on, I'll post pics when its installed.

Being as I'm on a stock bottom end for at least 6 more months I'm shooting for 500, but the turbo should have at least 600-650 in it.

I know the FP bolt on housing could be a restriction compared to a T3 housing, but I've seen a few of these make over 700(with T3 housings), but I'll keep my goals "conservative" LOL.

sounds like a good plan. im aimin for the same numbers on a stock bottom end but with a precision 6031

Been a while since I updated my thread so here goes. Got my HTA86 , Tial MVR, FP O2 Housing on and a rough tune on 24psi and pump gas, going for 30 on 100 octane this weekend for a dyno day.

Also kept having problems with vacuum lines blowing off at high boost and didn't want to just ziptie them so I made the plunge and convered to -4 AN vacuum lines. Kinda pricey but they look great, and no worries of spiking 40psi on a stock bottom end anymore.

Went out for a photoshoot with my friend yesterday, the weather ended up being terrible so we didn't get all the shots we wanted, but the ones we did get came out phenomenal.

I'll be back with dyno numbers soon, enjoy the pictures!
