Ok im not a straight newbie on DSM's but this is my 3rd one, im really getting frustrated because for one my boost is not all the way there, i re-tightened every tube, im pretty sure there is no boost leak, and when I get on it driving or not getting on it my RPM goes up really slow, I've did everything from changing spark plugs, spark plug wires, fuel filter (in case of clog), the firing order is correct (4-1-2-3) bov is working, all exhaust manifold bolts are tightened down, replaced valve cover gasket, changed oil, put in new coolant, MAF sensor is plugged in (the cone is a little lose) but still that wouldnt do something like this cus I tested that on my last DSM. The last things I can think of are the big things like maybe clogged cat which i highly doubt, or the timing is off which seems like when dsm's have their timing off wouldnt it ruin the motor since its a interference motor, and maybe the cam angle sensor know you can adjust it up and down but could it be off somehow to do this? please help me someone, im tired of guessing.

Hey I cant find anyone with a timing light, hopefully someone responds to my other post about living in sierra vista,az to come help me out, but other then that theres no way to like move the CAS little by little and see if my RPMS can reach be back normal and not bog at 5000 RPM, its just ridiculous how get on it how I cant go pass 5000 RPM its like the motor stops giving fuel or air to keep going, cars fine at lower rpm but sucks when gets to 5000, I checked ECU and that appears to b fine, but yah I dont really have the money to go out and buy a timing light right now sadly, but is there someway to slowly move the CAS a little a time and rev the car to see if anything has changed? By the way I read the vfaq site and its saying ground a pin or something where exactly is that pin located I seen the pic but still not really clear.

Click me Go to the engine tab for DSMs, and scroll down to "Adjusting Ignition Timing" for a 1g.

Ok I adjusted ignition timing and still the problem occurs, the rpms rec up like they are supposed to until you get to about 5000 RPM and then it goes very slow and stop at 6500 RPM, and this happens in neutral and all gears. The only thing I can think of is a compression test I did rent a tool and I just dont really know how to do a compression test, I took the spark plugs out, twisted in the compressor gauge screw, I let the engine run to to get warmed up, and I gotta be doing it wrong if the reading only goes to 30 on each cylinder and the compression cant be that low because The car still has some boost, and if it was that low wouldnt the car like not even start? I dont really know how to check the TPS either. What I can tell you guys is that the car idles perfectly fine, theres no smoke out the back of the car for bad ring or anything, COuld messing with the throttle cable adjustment do anything and the idle screw, I moved some stuff a little bit because the idle screw seems like its almost all the way tightened down but the car still idles fine, I dont know whats going... Im getting pretty frustrated and really want this problem fixed.
