the other day i was driving kinda rough (bouncing off the rev limiter 3 times LOL) and then the car dies and made some kind of buzzing noise, i tried to crank it back but it wouldn't start, it would turn over, but not start. i tore into the engine and found that the balance shaft belt was broken so i replaced it, i also replaced the timing belt while i was there. we tried to crank it and still nothing. we could smell fuel so we ruled that out, and the pistons all move up and down freely. what else could it be? thanks and sorry for the long read.

If you have fuel you need to rule out spark and air now. I'd give the ignition and good test and make sure you're getting spark on all 4's.
