Okay, so my 1st, 3rd, and 5th are starting to grind a bit on my 93. I can get a 90 t-case and trans for $115 bucks. It all worked 3 years ago. And has just sat. So just run some gear oil through it and it should work smooth right? Will I need to do anything about the flywheel to get the 90 trans onto my 7-bolt? And what about shifter linkages?

TIA,
Sawyer

First off i would say NO on the Tcase and trans due to spline count. I am still pretty fresh into mitsu's but i do recall spline count being different. also to note... check the build date of your car unless you have already verified its a 7 bolt... but you shouldnt have problems a 1g trans will swap into any other 1g if i recall correctly.
Just my 2 cents

Sorry you can not use that T-Case unless you do a complete 90 conversion. The spline count is 23 on a 90 and 22 on 91-94.

No. Spline count is 22 on a 90 and 23 on everything else. He is swapping in both trans and transfercase from the 90 so there is no reason why it wont work.

Differences are as follows:

1. Different spline count.
2. Different shifter cables. You would need to get 1990 shifter cables.
3. Different shifter cable brackets.
4. Different shifter arms on transmission.
5. Different shifter base inside the car. You will need to get the 1990 shifter base.

You can use your old flywheel with no problems. Due to the differences in the shifter arms on the transmission, you will need to get a 90 shifter assembly and cables.

Good link with differences in shifter assemblies/brackets. Shifter Differences, 90 and 91-94
