Hello guys, I just wanted to know if the 90 Plymouth laser 4g63t engine is the same as any other 1g dsm engine as I want to swap it into my 2g dsm but don't know if it is different from any other 1g as people told me it is different than other 1g dsm engines, also does my 2g harness plug up to the sensors on that engine or would I have to swap some sensors over any help or comment is appreciated thanks!

I wouldn't do GM Syncro junk ... You might get the very smooth shifting, but that's the trait for too thin of fluid for the Turbo Trannies.

Stuff can't handle the friction sheer under pressure and will allow the gears to wear quickly.

Redline MT-90 or similar is better.

Stuff would be okey for the NT F5M22 trannies since that tranny uses roller bearings where high power isn't required, where as the F5M33 uses Timken roller bearings to handle the higher power.

Wut? .............................................................................. Wrong thread, sir?

The 1990 engine is the same as any other turbo 6-bolt. There are a handful of the supporting components, sensors and some bolt-on parts, that are different.

In most cases, you'll retain the 2G sensors to match the 2G harness. The things you need concern yourself with are detailed in the link (or links within the link) Victor provided for you. Read it, search, absorb, and then ask questions.

Cam sensor will be a different setup, crank sensor signal is wired to the older cam sensor, 90 I believe also has an external oil cooler. It is not totally straight forward but you can use it (the 90 engine). Read the above mentioned link and study up before attempting it for sure!! Good luck!!

Search all you can on 6 bolt swap. Make sure it is a newer thread where you modify the motor mount. An old write up showed machining the 7 bolt oil pump housing for the swap which is not needed.
Use all 6 bolt stuff, grind motor mount, get a cas harness, switch plug wires around. Bam done. Not very hard at all, I just finished mine not too long ago.
