Had a slight oil leak then i took it on the freeway for 90 miles and could smell oil burning. I pulled over and say that the burning oil was oil dripping on exhaust manifold. but there are like 3 oil leaks one is that the V/c gasket needs to be replaced, but there is also on by the turbo and the biggest one i have no idea about i really havent checked it out cause its still winter out but i have oil dripping on my alternator and its sumwhere around the oil filter housing area. WHat is the most common oil leak problem areas with the 4G63T.

Also possible that your dipstick is popping out and spraying oil everywhere. On another note, make sure that your manifold bolts are all in place, I think there's an oil runner that uses the same channel as one of the manifold studs.
In answer to your other question, I've found the most common leak on the filter housing to occur at the pressure switch.

when i pulled off the freeway and checked my oil it was really hott and thin just to let ya know iam new to the dsm scene so any input would help me greatly. thanks
