I know about swapping the two pins but has a rough idle and died, so I had the caps replaced in the 90 EPROM Ecu and still runs the same.
Do 90 ecu's not work as good in the 91-94's?
Car runs great with my 92 non EPROM.
Is it running funny cause it's a 90? And will it work perfect in a 90?
Thanks for and input.
This is on my stock awd 92 talon.

It's just the 91+ Ecu's that have an issue in 90's... .

All you need to do to run a 90 in a 91+ is swap the Ecu Pin's a 6 & 14 as you said you knew about.

As said sounds like your Ecu or car has some sort of other issues. You said the stock 92 Non Eprom Ecu works and the car runs great? Are you sure the Ecu has a stock chip in it? Do you have a logger? try to be less vague an provide more info and you might get some real help. :)

The car is currently sock and the 90 EPROM Ecu " which is Manuel awd ecu" has the stock chip and is NOT socketed, also my car is a Manuel.
And I don't have anything to log beside when I install my v3 in a while.

But swapping the 2 wires don't help?
But runs great with the original Ecu.
Maybe I'll search on how to ohm and test the Ecu to see if it's bad or send it out.

Swaping the two wires Should be a direct fix.I can think of a few people who would tell you the same thing. As well as the person who mentioned it in this thread.

What is the board number on the ECU? Do you have a way to Post a high Res pic of it? What is the chip Eprom number? if it's the original chip from what you say it should be E742...

If you have V3 Ecmlink in your possesion and it's not is Installed you do still have a way to log

Thanks for the link!!
I can't get a photo to upload right now but the chip number is e743.
Is that my problem? Possibly an automatic chip?

...put a 91+ in my 90. along with the 90 ecu u need to swap a 90 power transistor the were wired diffrently.

They are wired differently but you most certainly do not have to swap to a '90 PTU for it to run.

Thanks for the link!!

Just to cover all bases, is the '92 an automatic?

The E743 chip is the '90 AWD chip for California spec vehicles. Is it a Cali-spec ECU? Is the '92 not?

The car is a 92 awd Manuel trans, i don't know if the car is federal or 50 state, so I'll check tomorrow.

The 90 EPROM Ecu is a Cali spec.

And I'll re check the two wire swap tomorrow when I get time.

Thanks everyone for helping me!

Ok when I added connectors on the 2 wires to make interchangeable that needed to be swapped, I hooked the wires back to normal Lol "duh" :ohdamn:
but to make it right I ended up trading a buddy who had a 90 dsm with a 91+ Ecu to trade me for my 90 Ecu! and now his tac is fixed and I don't have to deal with the wires anymore! :D
Sorry for late reply, busy.
Thanks guys!
